Early Tear Gas Launcher, circa 1933

Recommended Posts

Hiya,

I'm trying to identify this 37mm launcher stolen from the Massachusetts State Police in early 1934. I couldn't find it in Swearengen's book on TEAR GAS MUNITIONS and these old gas things are not really my forte. It does seem to have an inordinarily long barrel and appears to be nickeled. Anyone? Many thanks!

Cheers

Not a lot to go on from the picture, do you know if there are other shots from this scene?

The only period long barrel gun Ive seen so far were Sedgley products. That would be my guess.

Cool Thompson on the side with horizontal grip.

Model 1928AC Navy (#7438) stolen from the MSP. I think the gas gun is similar to this one just with a longer barrel. That would make it a converted Webley from Federal. Didn't know these existed with such long barrels.

Cheers
