Mills Shot Shell Pouch

Recommended Posts

I was digging around in my stuff looking for a Rusco canvas carry case to jpeg and came across this Mills double shot mag pouch. Thought you guys might like to have a look. Sometimes I am not real good with this digital camera, but you will get the idea. I am pretty sure it is original as it had two shot shell mags in it. I picked it off at a Dallas Gun Show back when Moby Dick was a minnow.

Thank you much. I love this web site! I had to think about what you asked for a while. What I don't have is a nagging wife that is whining all the time about all the crap that I have around here or what I pay for stuff. "Get rid of that, what is all this, your place is a mess, how much did you pay for that, why do you need that". She could care less. She runs her game, I run mine. I would like to call her my most valuable asset but she might not like that.

In any case, I think it is really important that the newbies that come to this site get to take a look at what items are original and what are not. Be able to freely ask questions without being brow beat. I have learned a ton just sitting down at night and going through new and old posts. This information simply isn't available elsewhere to my knowledge. Where else can you ask about the font under the butt plate of a Thompson stock and see if it is original Remington wood or Savage wood? There is a tremendous amount of knowledge on this forum that simply can't be found in any book that I know of. Cox, Helmer, Frank, Tracie, Gordon, Tom and all of the others have documented a lot but there is no substitute for being able to come to this forum and ask a question or post a pic. In any case I am getting older now and need to start digging through all this "stuff" so it can go on to the next guy. I have spent a considerable amount of time going through my 21's checking to see if things are correct or not. I knocked a pretty good dent in that as of late. Now I am looking though some of the canvas items, mags, ammo, books, etc. that I have collected over the years. In time I will offer it for sale but not to be greedy I just want to get a fair price for it. I remember last year I was headed up to Colorado for a few weeks and someone called me asking if I had any 63 Stoner fore grips. I did and I asked a couple of guys what they were worth. Two or three of the buyers quoted me prices in the $200 to $400 range. So I sold them only to find out later that they were worth several thousand dollars each. That was my bad and I will take the hit for that. I don't mind making someone a deal but getting ripped off is not fair. So as time permits, I am going through all of this "stuff" and will price it up for sale or put it up for auction. Hopefully I will be able to obtain that knowledge here.

That being said. I think I am going to dig out more "stuff" and post it out here for all to look at. Maybe that sterling silver bill clip still in the box that I have from Tiffany's, NY. and the story of how I got my hands on it. Maybe a pic of the new in the box 1921 Colt Thompson, SN# 40.

New in box!! I'm sure many here would love to see pictures and hear the story on that!

Yes, this board is. A treasure trove of Thompson (and other) information (huge thanks to David) and I'm glad members like you are willing to take the time to photograph and post for discussion and future reference. It surely make this place invaluable!

Now thats cool pic thanks

I agree with firearm while I am a TSMG newbie I have acquired a number of different canvas items, parts mags with a lot of looking and from help on this site. Now most of my TSMG help has come from Sandman57 as he is fairly close by and really knows his stuff which has helped me a lot. Thanks for the community of others who have helped me also. Great site 👍

LOL!. I was joking. That's what it would be. A story! I suspect that #40 no longer exist and if so it was a prototype. Then again it drives home my point that someone on this site will know if it exist and who owns it, if it does. The 1st production run Thompson #41 is owned by a very knowledgeable individual on this site.

1921 Colt Thompson # 40, new in box? Are you being facetious....or did you mean you have a Colt L or C drum, new in the box, #40?
