adlake
I got a Stevens sear a week ago in the mail. It has the square "S" on the left side but on the right stamped all over the sear is these letters- "N", "L", "X", "U", "P", in diffrent lines and direction. Any takers on this???????-Adlake
1921A
adlake: I checked my A.O.C. drawings - the letters you mention are a mystery. I have blueprints and the "Chart of Part Markings" which includes all of the subcontractors for each part. The chart shows Stevens and AOC as the only two makers of the sear. Can you publish a picture? I have quite a few NOS military sears in my parts bin - I'll see if any have similar marks. 1921A
adlake
I wish I could post it. I heard one of these from a guy (from Fl.) who was selling one on gunbroker. He had the same. We later compared two of ours and it was like someone from Stevens went nuts with a hand stamp. I would love to know the story on these. Maybe I can have someone scan it off the board here. Thanks for posting 1921A I8'd be intresting to get down to this-adlake
