Prehistoric Assault Rifles

Maybe the Prehistoric is in your 1986 HP computer ?

I sometimes will send/save a file to my Docs, then download that from there . I can't save and paste here on my 1988 HP computer either.

Jim,

The suspense has got the best of me, what gun are you referring to?

Darryl,

A friend of mine took a trip to Wyoming to shoot prairie dogs. While there he visited the museum in Cody. He took some pictures and emailed them to me.

The pictures included a Remington Police rifle like you own and several Winchester 1907 rifles. One of the 1907's had a very long magazine, perhaps 20 rd and one had a shell catcher bag and bayonet attachment. No doubt used for shooting out of a bi-plane.

I was unable to copy and paste and was unable to print. No idea why.

On another topic, did you try my suggestion for disassembling your Remington? I just bought another Remington. It was second year of production,1907, made before the model 8 was assigned. It was covered with light rust. The take down screw was too tight to use the lever. I couldn't fire it because the firing pin was broken. So I used steps 2 and 3. I gave the take down screw a rap on the end with a lead mallet, put a crescent wrench on the take down screw (not the take down screw lever) and gave the wrench a sharp rap with the lead mallet . About three raps did the trick.

In your case I recommended firing because every time I fire the rifle the take down screw becomes loose.

Best of luck.

Jim

Go to Cody Firearms Museum, Buffalo Center of the West- one or the other. They have a link to all the guns, click on what you are looking for like the Winchester 1907- It's there.

They used to have one of Clyde Barrows guns, may still have.

I've never been there but a lot of folks from around here have. Usually a stop on a Yellowstone trip.
