2ndArmored
Them’s was big bucks back then Sonny !!! According to a report from Cornell U., the average unionized construction worker was making about $3/hr in 1957, depending on geography. Not many guys would be willing to spend 3 1/2 days pay on a gun that won't even put food on the table.
1gewehr
Somewhere around $1700 in today's fiat Federal Reserve Notes. Not as cheap as you thought! That would be about the right price if they could still be imported as transferables.
gijive
Old Sensei,Can you post a copy of the advertisement? Here is a copy of the ad mentioned in the first post. It was hard to copy off the Internet due to the low resolution. I had to do some manipulation to be able to get it readable. This is about the best I could do. colt21a
The world was in another direction it did not sell that well.Just like when this 2020 stuff is over with, we will have a restructure of demand items.Cheap guns and ammo sure. Water Food paper products. CASH. and a sprinkle of Gold and Silver, the big heavy demand for old guns and the enormous tab they want not so much. This hit has put a big change in many a life now.
