TD. Posted July 6, 2018 Report Share Posted July 6, 2018 Larry,A very interesting butt stock. A couple of questions: Is there an "R" mark on the side of the trap door assembly? I do not see an "R" mark on the flat part of the butt plate. Is the Butt Stock Slide Group unmarked, i.e., all Colt's? The stock re-enforcement screws and repairs do have the British look. TD. Posted July 6, 2018 Report Share Posted July 6, 2018 I thought there might be an "R" marking on what is obviously a Colt's butt plate. However, gijive is the resident expert on this subject so I welcome his opinion. I do not see an anchor mark on the front of the butt stock but this mark is easily removed with only a touch of sanding during a refinishing process. Given the repairs, I would guess the butt stock has been refinished sometime in the past. An interesting piece for sure! Thank you for sharing.
