The Wizard
I have a registered U. S. Rifle, 7.62 mm, M14 that I would like to replace the issued barrel with a Krieger heavy pattern barrel. Being a MG I know I can not send it off to any shop to have this work done. Anyone know how to get the barrel replaced?
emmagee1917
With the new rules , any LICENSED gunsmith can work on MGs now . It HAS to be a legit repair and return to you. The form for repairs is now optional , but is a good idea and some 'smiths require it. You cannot ship via UPS as they will no longer take them. Not sure about FED-Ex. I belive USPS is the best now , but your 'smith will know. Chris
hagar
I have checked with BATFE and if the owner is local it is definitely no big deal .As a 07/02 I have done this on occasion and all worked out well but any licensed gun-smith can do it .
