WTB: Shotout finned 1928A1 barrel. + Bonus WWII pic!

Recommended Posts

If you have a shot out barrel, shoot me a PM. I am building a M1928A1 non-gun and I am just looking for a barrel. The one I currently have has been drilled out, and undercut, so anything else is a major step up. Loss of finish is fine by me, I can re-finish it myself. Just want a decent looking barrel for my display.

For fun and your viewing pleasure here is a cool WWII TSMG picture:

Looking for just a barrel, already have a comp and front sight.

PM me with your worn out barrels. Thanks!

Thanks mate. Independent parachute infantry battalions in WWII are a passion of study for me. I like to contribute to the forum when I put out an ad like this so it is something more than just another wanted ad.

Still on the hunt for a shot out barrel.

I will continue to bribe the forum for possible leads with cool photos not posted here before.

Sgt. Fisco displays a low fighting stance with his 1928A1. Notice the rear grip added to the front horizontal grip.

Thanks to the guys who have responded to my wanted ad here. I have received a few offers for barrels that I had to turn down due to my requirements.

I am looking for a WWII Savage/Stevens finned barrel, not a reproduction. I am looking for just a barrel, please no compensators as I already have a very nice one. Shotout barrel is preferential, but a bulged barrel will do if the bulging is not too noticeable. If you have a spare WWII finned barrel to sell, I am always willing to hear offers, so shoot me a PM. Cost is a big motivator for why I want a used barrel. I do not see the sense in using a NOS barrel that costs $300 for a project that will never shoot. I am looking for a barrel that is original WWII, but somehow not-serviceable for shooting. If you have anything that could work PM me.

Once again, thanks for letting me post this wanted ad.

R67,

How do you know that the drum pouch in the picture is "the incredibly rare USMC QMD made TSMG drum pouch" and not one made by a commercial manufacturer?

Seriously: A friend directly sourced this image from the national archives. He said there was a pencil written note on the back that said something to the equivalent of "QMC Gear display". Short answer is nothing can be proven absolutely. However the color/texture of the canvas stock is identical to the other pouches that are confirmed QMC made. It also makes perfect sense that this pouch is QMC made, as the QMC made everything early in the war, even things relatively easy to procure through the Army or commercially available.

Well guys, after a few months of searching I finally found a bulged barrel that suits my needs. Thanks for all the responses and offers.

I hope someone got a kick out of the pictures. I wanted to contribute and not just post another wanted ad. So thanks for everyone's patience as I continued to update this thread.

My dummy build is really coming along.
