The1930sRust
Well, now I'm three for three. Got this one with 13 rounds. Much more satisfying than a shotgun. Little bugger left about 200 feet of tunnel in my golf-course-like lawn. Not anymore...... http://www.darklightimagery.net/thompson/deadmole.jpg

hawksnest
Nice shooting Chris, but 13 rounds - What will you do if you just wound it and then your clip runs dry? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/unsure.gif Now that the AWB has expired, you could fit your Thompson with a bayonet, just in case. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
full auto 45
And once agin you must have scared it to death, no blood and guts! 13 rounds from a Thompson and you have that much left! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif Skin it, take the meat and make it into "ground mole" and cook it in the chile. Grey Crow
Not only the benifit of airation. But think of how you have increased the value of the property! I can see in the future copper and lead mining.

JimFromFL
There seems to be a lot left of that little critter for being hit with a .45. I would have expected to see a big hole. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif

PK.
I think 13 rounds is pretty good, considering all you have to shoot at is moving mound of dirt. I think I’d have put a full L at it, just to be sure! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif
TSMGguy
Yup, she'll look mighty fine skinned, tanned, and turned into a rug for the fireplace. Man, we don't have 'em that big in Texas! Now I have to go find my ass. I know it's around here somewhere. I laughed it off!A message from my wife: "Oo-uuu!"
The1930sRust
Died laughing!?! At some diminutive nimrod with a Thompson? Died of fear maybe, yes! As it turns out, the clip was only loaded with 13 rounds (left overs from a box of 50; hence the odd count). I have had them die from the concusion. Whatever works. Next time, I may just dump a drum! Sgt
Just to think, this kind of extermination was once a selling point for Thompsons. Well, maybe it still is.
Walter63a
QUOTE (TSMGguy @ Nov 9 2004, 05:56 PM) Man, we don't have 'em that big in Texas! The1930sRust
My sergeant, who is also a diminutive nimrod, has offered to help my tan this mole hide. He is an expert trapper, and good with hide. I expect to make a mole chamois with fur to oil up the wood on my Thompson with!
full auto 45
You know, you could probably sell them on Ebay as a original Thompson accessory. The1930sRust
QUOTE (PhilOhio @ Nov 13 2004, 12:02 PM) So, Chris, I'd say the market for American musky products is still wide open. And I see no reason why top quality mole woud not be even better, if you can just find a way to minimize the number of .45 holes in the hides. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif Those are "dexterity holes", see, to put your fingers in and have the ultimate control over the oiling process.... Bisley45
Chris I'd invite you over to my new pad and let you ventelate a few more save for two sad facts. 1 I'm in town, 2 I'm still stuck in gun owners hell in Ill. However thanks for the pic, I can look out at the mole traps as I'm cleaning my Thompson in the den and know I'm not the only SOB who hates those rodents. john
I think I'd build a little tiny four-sided frame of sticks....lash it together with bits of buckskin. Then stretch the little hide like the Indians used to do, lacing it onto the little frame. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif After this, I'd do a little indian pictogram on the back with acrylic paint detailing (in Indian legends) the thrill of the hunt!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/unsure.gif This would be a great addition to any hunters trophy shelf!! Hmmmm...maybe I should try this with the next Prairie Dog I nail..... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif Back to reality....I would've done a whole drum!! john
