M50 Magazine Catch/Release

Does anyone have any information or a tutorial on an aftermarket magazine release lever for the M50 that makes it easier to remove a magazine. Thanks

Just curious, do you have a picture of your mag release? I have never found them difficult to operate, except on a later Leatherneck I have that is actually missing the release and I am actually prying on the spring to remove the mag.

I don't believe there is an aftermarket replacement . IIRC , there was an early and a late style original ones . The early required you to pry back on the lever . The late style added a thumb pad you pushed toward the well on the bottom , which pivoted the top away , pulling the lever back .

I'm not sure if you can just add a pad to the old lever or if you'd have to replace the old lever with a new lever and pad . I do believe they do screw on the same .

They interchange. Keystone sells repro push type. Nice quality, easy to install.
