bob241
I know these handbooks are rare, but are they worth the asking price of this one in its condition? Not mine, just saw it on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1926-Auto-Ordinance-Co-Handbook-of-the-Thompson-Submachine-Gun-Model-of-1921/332550895834?hash
dalbert
It's certainly an expensive manual, but not many of them come up for sale. It's priced about right, in my opinion. David Albertdalbert@sturmgewehr.com
Melvin
Interesting history on this manual. This manual was listed and sold on January 7th for $24 dollars . Do a search on ebay and you will find the sale. Looks like the seller sells paper items and had no idea what he had. I contacted him a few days after the sale and asked if he had others like the manual that was listed and offered to pay a bit more if he had others. He asked the approximate value I gave him a low ball but higher figure. He said it was already shipped and he had no others like the one sold. A few days later he contacted me about the manual. Somehow he got it back after it was mailed but not delivered . In those days someone must have gotten to him about the mistake he made. It has been relisted now twice and the price has been lowered both times. I always wondered if the 1st sale was to one of the members here. True Story !!! rpbcps
Hi Chuck,So this was the bargain 1921 Handbook sold on eBay that you mentioned to me earlier in the year. I have been following this since I posted the link on the forum in February: http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=21802 Indeed, I have made two offers, the 2nd one after they relisted it, both which have not been accepted, but to be honest, they were probably not realistic, but as they say nothing ventured... Mind you back in 2014, I bought a copy of the same manual. without the cover, from a member on here for only $150 and about 12 months ago I paid £300 sterling for a first edition handbook, with providence from Ireland, again with no cover. So if David believes that one is priced correctly, I bagged myself two bargains. Stay safe Richard Edited March 10, 2018 by rpbcps
