Tiz
I know this is the Thompson form but where else can a find a better connected group of RKI's. Anyway, I am trying to locate a Dewat / Demiled pack howitzer to pair with my WWII Willys MB, something like the ones you see so often displayed at VFW and Legion Posts. if anyone has any leads for me I would appreciate any information. Maybe a VFW or Legion who wants to get rid of one. Thanks
Maxim
Be advised that all military ordnance, rifles, tanks, artillery, helicopters, are U.S. Army property on loan to those organizations. It is managed by an office in U.S. Army TACOM in Warren, Michigan, and cannot be sold or even transferred between posts. I retired from there a year and a half ago, and am a VFW life member. Black River Militaria CII
There are a small number of registered pack howitzers in the NFRTR that are freely sold and transferred as DD's, destructive devices, under NFA regs. They don"t show up for sale very often in public forums due to word of mouth sales so keep asking around and contact the several various outfits that specialize in DD's such as ATs, cannons, etc. I know half a dozen owners of these guns. 13GetThere
Try Sturmgewehr.com. They have a classified section that covers NFA items.
halftrack
There are demilled ones floating around also. Dont necessarily have to go NFA route.
Tiz
There are demilled ones floating around also. Dont necessarily have to go NFA route.Right. I am not looking for a NFA gun. I want a demiled or replica gun. I heard that there was a guy somewhere in Arizona that makes replicas.

maxfaxdude
The Big Sandy machinegun shoot in AZ always has numerous live transferable cannons, tanks and/or artillery pieces. The next shoot is October 18 to 20. A lot of knowledge and info can be gathered there all in one place and often one or more pieces are for sale! Bridgeport28A1
Maybe try asking the Destructive Device sub-forum?
jl7422
maxfaxdude is correct. Big Sandy has a very active group of cannon enthusiasts on the West end of the line, and the October event typically has the greatest turn-out. Good chance somebody there will have a lead on what you are looking for.

colt21a
That is like a boat owner best time buying it. and better time when they sell it.I was going the m-203 40mm route and i did.And after i stocked up on all kinds of rounds and had two of them. Was the disaster of not being able to buy H.E. And the tax per round storage and transport. It was a nightmare.I envy somebody that has that stuff with real H.E. The rest is just want to be games.very very few. And i got into that stuff back in Illinois when Vollmer had his first M-203 with M-4 come in around 1990,I was like a kid in a very large Hobby shop with cash in hand looking saying no Thompsons today what else you got. I did not just deal in Thompsons over 50 years, I did all of it.Yes History is fun. Also Try SAR building in Dec. all kinds of guys there who like cannon and mortar stuff. one guy had a great Tiger 88mm h.e. shell there. I wanted it bad until he told me a $1,000.00 Pretty expensive door stop for a screen door.good luck with the search for the gun.It will turn up before you know it. You can buy everything if you have the will and drive. and any amount of cash..I guy called me recently to buy a FG-42 said he could find none. found him one in 24 hours. He said how much i said $150 grand, he said oh too much i only have $85 grand to spend. I said you are not that serous and just talking like 90% of the blowhards on gun boards.I said go buy a Texas replicant for 6 grand and safe the cash.I think he got mad at me. {Most do}they hate to see the mirror i hold up and tell them the fact. And actually i don't care anymore. I will help when i can. But w/o sincerity and cash ya got nothing brother! everybody here have a good 2019.RON K. anjong-ni
The dozer is mine but someone else built the home-made artillery. You find the 37mm guns on Ebay once-in-awhile. Non-operative or fire black-powder. I'll look around....Phil
StrangeRanger
FWIW there were almost four times as many 37mm AT guns produced as there were Pack Howitzers. You're probably more likely to find a good dewat of one of those for less $$. They also weigh half as much so easier to tow behind a Jeep
waterdawg2004
37mm is a lot easier to reload too. Cases can be found and solid projos can be made by any machinists. Ammo is solid shot so is legal to make without getting a DD form for each round.
