Reising Model 50 Barrel Removal

Has anybody out there ever removed the the barrel from a Model 50? I want to change out my old barrel out for a new one that has been threaded for a can but wanted to check with someone that had done it before in case there were any tricks. The front mag well stud is the only stud that is not welding. Does anyone know if that stud has something to do with locking the barrel in place?

Thanks for any and all help.

Had a gunsmith remove and replace one that a now ex-friend bulged using old , oil soaked ammo. It was straight forward according to the smith. The new bbl needed to be reamed a smiggen for headspace , but yours may not need it. The only warning is to use the right tools to remove. I know of another guy who did not , and he found out how easy those mag lugs will rip right out and take part of the reciever with them if any latterial preasure is applied. This happened back when they sold for $300 including the tax stamp. I bought what was left as spares .
