philasteen
New made 50 round "L" drums can be had for just over $200, so I would guess something less than that.
John Jr
This would have been great question for a semi auto.... oh... Its one of them thar play drums that aint worth a shick really, you can buy new 50 rounders that don't work for less than 200. Not that that helps much. You might get $100 or $150 for it. They are the least desirable drum ever made. Like Randall E used to say... NOBODY LIKES THE TRUTH! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif (welcome to the board, wierdnamed dude) http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif
Z3BigDaddy
"They are the least desirable drum ever made." Hmmmmm... Not according to Merle Bitikofer.... He says they can be some of the best running drums out there.... But what does he know? Once again my offer is open, I'll buy all you can get me for $100 to $150. Of course some "Can't handle the truth"......
LIONHART
HALFBREED, those Drums were produced in Japan many years ago. Some up until the late 1980's. First introduced for the MGC Blank Firing Thompson's, then later sold by West Hurley for their Thompsons.
full auto 45
I have a couple of these drums. Both run fine. I use them in my FA gun and the only problem is it's over so fast. There was a guy that had one couple months back at a show for $50, but I didn't get to him fast enough. And Merle loves the drums. If it won't run right, he can make it fly. deerslayer
Price, I sold some for $350 before the ban. Probable wouldn't get that now. I bet on evilbay they'd bring $250.
Murray
I remember Merle telling me that he really liked the 39 round drum that he "tuned up". He was using the drum at some fund raising event. "Empty a Thompson drum mag for fifty bucks" or something like that. He reckoned he made a 11 round profit on every sale!!! and no one new the difference. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

Granted, it's only been used on my "semi", but from day one, mid seventies, that 39'er never ever jammed. And I put a lot of reloaded crap I made myself through it! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif Zamm
adlake
You might get $100 or $150 for it. They are the least desirable drum ever made. I thought the ten rounder was the most worthless my self. But, what do I know http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif -adlake
Norm
Z3, The 39 rounders do run well. The only real drawback to the XL drum is that it only holds nine more rounds than a XXX stick mag, which is cheap to buy. I hear that people are converting the 10 round drums to 39 round drums. Is this true? I guess it would be fairly easy (with a kit.) http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif
deerslayer
Norm, I make a ring that goes inside the rotor (once you remove the short X drum tracks). Then you have a 30 round drum. 36 rounds can be done if you grind away part of the rotor. Dan
