New Ingram Model 6 Discussion Forum

Recommended Posts

All,

I am currently at the beginning of the NFA Branch waiting period on Ingram Model 6 Submachine Gun serial number 147, which was the 47th production gun made circa 1950 by Police Ordnance Company in Los Angeles, CA. I'm buying it from Frank Iannamico, and was able to put a couple of mags through it at the TATA Show and Shoot a few weeks ago. Very nice! I'm excited about the new acquisition.

The Model 6 has always caught my eye at gun shows. I have a friend who consistently kids me about them, because whenever I've spotted one, I've stopped for a while to inspect it. I like the Federal Laboratories connection, which it shares with the Thompson and the Reising. There is not a lot of information about these guns out there...Frank Iannamico's book "Submachine Guns of the United States of America" has the best level of detail on the gun. The internet has a few places where a paragraph or so provides a quick summary. As a result of the lack of information, and the availability of my own forum to host it, I thought it would dovetail nicely into Machinegunboards.com. I'd like this to become the repository of information on the Ingram Model 6 going forward.

So, if you have information about this submachine gun, or the semi-automatic carbine, I'd sure like to hear it, as I know others would. I've had some e-mail conversations with another Model 6 enthusiast, and I'm certain he will contribute here, also. I'd like to get some pictures I can post in a pinned informational topic at the top of the board, such as close-ups of magazines and magazines covers, as well as the Federal Laboratories case. There are some that exist on the internet, but I want original photos that can be copyright protected in the pinned post.

I look forward to your contributions to this new board!

David,

Congratulations on a very nice addition to MachineGunBoards.com. The Ingram Model 6 is a great gun with a fascinating history. I look forward to learning more about it in this new forum. I see the FAQ section is taking shape. This will be the authority on this gun before long. Again, great job!
