m4fun
I posted this on subguns, but wondering if anyone knows of a source for a smaller stock for a 1921 model? I am on the short but stocky side of life... TIA - Brian
TSMG28
Brian, Your best bet is to purchase a WWII 1928 buttstock and cut it down to better fit you. Once you cut some length from the butt end of the stock, you can either inlet the upper stock to accommodate the original buttplate, or you can purchase an M1 buttplate and attach it. Several people have done this with great success. Stripped buttstocks are generally available at a very minimal cost. Add the cost of the slide, attaching hardware, and whichever buttplate you prefer, and you have a solution at a very reasonable cost. Hope this helps. huggytree
I cut 1 1/2 or 2 for my kids. I call it my child stock Just cut down a stock. We dont use a butt plate . You cant feel any difference. Id keep the full stock on it and swap it out on the range Edited November 7, 2018 by huggytree
giantpanda4
Or, I cut about the same length off a1928 buttstock, but I fit an M1 / M1A1 buttplate to it. Easy, since the M1 / M1A1 buttplate does not wrap over the top of the stock as in the 21/28 models. Since buttstocks are worth a whole $5 (maybe), I sanded it to fit and it actually is rather decent looking too.
timkel
I like the shorter stock too. Someone with skills chopped the stock in the pic. Contact Dan Block "deerslayer" He is a member here. I'm sure he would do a real nice chop job.http://www.thompsonstocks.com/
