TennesseeTaylor95
Hey everyone, I am looking at 10.5" barrels for my SBR conversion, but I am unsure if my compensator is threaded on my current barrel or if it is press fit on. Is there a way to tell aside from trying to remove it? I just want to make sure I buy the correct barrel, and avoid damaging my current barrel or compensator by attempting to incorrectly remove it. Oldtrooper
If your compensator isn't pinned it's probably threaded ... Personally, I would just get an unthreaded barrel and a pin a compensator on it ... We've had a couple of WH's in the machine shop for work and they had threaded comps
TennesseeTaylor95
Ok, thanks for the information. Is there any place that you would recommend getting a good barrel from or any places to stay away from?
Oldtrooper
Bought my barrel and comp from Dan Block and had him install ... Price was very reasonable Edited January 5, 2019 by Oldtrooper
TennesseeTaylor95
I wasn't aware he had any barrels to sell, but I will definitely ask him since I plan on using him to rebarrel my thompson.
deerslayer
I don't make or have an inventory of barrels... But buy them on occasion from various sources as needed.... I suggest Thompson barrels.com
