A question for those who have SBR'd their Thompsons

Recommended Posts

I am most likely gonna SBR my TM1. I am familiar with the Form 1 process having already SBR'd an AR-15.

My question is this:

Where on the receiver did you have your name, city and state engraved? A photo would be nice.

Thanks in advance...

P.S. Who did your rebarreling?

Deerslayer did mine as well along with a bunch of other mods at the same time. My SBR engraving was also done in the same place along with all the other engraving done to the rifle (military acceptance markings as well as FA markings)

I am a 07 and sometimes makes SBR's and in speaking to ATF personnel, i have gotten mixed answers

1. It must be on the serialized part.Thats universally agreed of course

2. There is a difference in opinions as to where. I have seen some under the grips, under the handguards

and I have been told its in compliance. I like that choice better as it aids in the resale

Not quite. It can be on the frame, receiver, or barrel. I believe on smaller guns like pistols where space is limited, they allow engraving it on the slide.

The serial number must be engraved or stamped on the receiver of the firearm and the caliber, model, and identification of the maker must be engraved on the barrel or frame or receiver of the weapon.
