What is the history behind the RUSCO canvas case? Can you post a high resolution picture of the rear of the case? And the extractor, front & back.

Suggestion regarding the Colt's bolt. Post a picture of the rear of the bolt. That is what most knowledgeable buyers want to see.

Thanks!

hughlong,

Thanks for the prompt reply. As you know, RUSCO marked canvas cases have been suspected as reproductions by many in the Thompson community. And with good reason. MILLS marked canvas cases have also been reproduced. Both types were sold as originals in the past by an unscrupulous dealer in Pennsylvania.

I am curious if you are the collector that obtained your Colt's Thompson directly from the Sheriff's Department. Could you also post a picture of your MILLS canvas pouch, not to sell, but for those that study these items to view.

Thanks!

I have a colt Thompson bolt, complete with all colt internals as well as a 1921 actuator, blush lock, and buffer assembly and spring. I have the bolt assembly, which I purchased years ago from Gordon Hergistad

The actuator has a british broad arrow mark and looks excellent to almost new. The buffer and spring assembly looks excellent to new. The blish is of course unmarked.

I have decided to sell it either as a lot for $3000 or piecemeal:

1921 Actuator $1300

1921 Blish lock $200

1921 Buffer assembly and spring $500

1921 Bolt assembly complete with firing pin, spring, hammer, pin, and extractor $1500

I have merged these two topics together by the same seller. There are more market posts on the board than I would prefer right now. I like the board to be about 90% collector subjects, and 10% market posts, so I'm merging these two together.
