hvac
what was the normal barrel length did these come with and does anyone have one or pictures of one?
Z3BigDaddy
13" I'll add a pic when I get home....
LIONHART
Had to be 13" to meet the 26" Requirement with the use of the Vertical Foregrip, otherwise it would have been classified as an AOW. However, should one wish to add an Original 10" TSMG Barrel, and a Horizontal Foregrip, that should be A-OK, but Verticals can't be added at that length without first registering it. treadhead
QUOTE (full auto 45 @ Dec 2 2005, 10:05 PM) Here's 3 for sale. Now we know where they have been hiding. Wisconsin 3 A-5's for sale I was the 4th guy to read that ad this morning and actually called them (As well as E-Mailing) to say I'd take one. The guy I talked to said they were talking to the first person in line to buy all three http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif They said they'd get back to me by monday so....... I'm not really sure what they're worth(I saw that $4,000 one on gunsAmerica or Gunbroker.com a month or so ago) but I used to have one and thought it was about the "Neatest" (11LB) "Pistol" I ever had. I would'nt mind having another one and we almost never see them here in OR/WA. Do they show up much in other parts of the country? EDIT: I just re-read FA45's quote and realized that they must be about as hard to find in other places. Z3BigDaddy
Yikes forgot I promised a picture..... Well here are two.... http://mydrive.roadfly.com/blog/uploads/z3bigdaddy_IMG_0818.JPG I paid $1,500.00 for this off GunBroker a few months after I found this board and y-all f***ed me up for the rest of my life with all things Thompson. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/woot.gif It came with the case, three XXX mags and an L drum. The dealer I shipped it to here told me how stupid I was and that he saw these things regular for 600 bucks tops, I gave him a standing offer of $1,000.00 for any and all he could get..... Well I think you know the end of that story..... BTW This is sitting in Orygun t-head..... http://mydrive.roadfly.com/blog/uploads/z3bigdaddy_IMG_0826.JPG Here it is compared to my SFAB Thompson... The drum in it is a Crosby I picked up off Auction Arms for 4 bills.... I think I might have sniped it from someone on the board here if I remember correctly..... It is kinda ugly but it is a runner.... And I need runners in my gun to keep up with the speed....
Jebva
I was able to pick up an A5 for 1,200.00 on Gun broker. There have been twoothers on the for $2,500 and $2,000. One went for $2,200 for NIB back in the summer. I missed one on Subguns back in January for $750.00. $4,000 is crazy.

Z3BigDaddy
QUOTE (Norm @ Dec 8 2005, 05:50 PM) Z3, I love the look of your SFAB. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif Who built that gun for you? Did they hard time fitting the firing pin to the bolt? Norm I had the drum doctor do it actually..... He did the bolt work to make it select fire, barrel, and set up the reciever so it would take the 28 stock.... I was the one who actually fitted the pin..... Still working on the pin now that you mention it.... I need to fill the space on the bolt face as it pops primers..... But I didn't want to redrill the pin and file down the front to make it fit if you know what I mean.... These things were made pretty sloppy..... Just put in the paddle selectors so I only need to put on the real deal Lyman and I'm finished.....

Ron A
I had the good luck many months ago to purchase one off this board. The young man who owned it was in gunsmithing school and as a project had rebuild the gun. He had replaced the wood, cut the bbl and replaced with a comp which was turned to match the early 21 comps. Replaced the cocking knob with a correct looking one. Then refinished the gun so the upper and top matched. The finish is outstanding. A great buy, and a good shooter... I was lucky to purchase for $1000.
Tgunner
Ive got a 1927 A5 mid 800 serial number with a 13 inch barrel and another barrel measuring 12 inches with what looks like a flash suppressor. Drum and stick mags. All in prestine condition. What's it worth and what would it take to sell it.
