Jack_Bauer
Are the Kahr/Auto Ordnance sem-auto receivers compatible with the original Auto Ordnance lower frame? If so would the gun even function properly? I found a parts kit with a lower frame and I was thinking about putting it on my M1SB (SBR) to resemble the original M1A1 with the full/single selector. It would need a refinish job but was unsure of the compatibility. Any help is greatly appreciated. Edited August 2, 2017 by Jack_Bauer
06AngusSG
The upper and lower are compatible. However, the trigger groups are totally different. To use an FA lower you have to have a smith modify the SA trigger group into the FA frame.

Can you recommend a good gunsmith that can modify the SA trigger group into the FA frame and refinish the the lower frame & parts? Also, could a smith just add the FA/SA selector and markings to a semi-auto lower as that might be easiest and cheapest thing to do? TennesseeTimmy
Deerslayer (Dan Block) has mine in Iowa right now doing that very thing, among other mods. PK is another highly spoken of individual on here that may do what you are looking for. Try the forum search function; there are several folks who have done the FA lower thing or have had it done. I think there may be some discussion of various mods to the SA lower as well. Someone - I think it's 06Angus - has a hellacious write up with pictures on his gun - it's a beauty. Good luck with your project. Timmy
Paladin601
the Original 1928 Trigger frame has to be notched at the front to fit on the Kahr receiver.
Jack_Bauer
I've contacted Dan about the selector mod. It's way cheaper to go that route than buy a lower frame which runs $350 - $1000.
