Maybe that car needs an exorcism, or just a decent burial. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif Sorry to hear about and see that Nick. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/unsure.gif Regards, Walter

I was driving down the road and a car in front of me turning left so I slowed down, it turned, and BLAM traffic dead stopped in the middle of the road. I rear-ended some girl in her early 90's Civic. Her bumper was hanging off from the corners nothing too major.

I didn't get a ticket and the cop told me to call my insurance co. and get my ride fixed. He said it was a bad section of road because of the crest in the road that I was coming over.

She said she was okay when I walked up to her car, she was shakin up a little bit as can be expected. Her parents showed up and started giving me shit about speed and learing how to drive.. I was going less than 30 on a 35mph posted road. My airbags did not even deploy.

Like the time, in a pal's new cruiser, I drove up under a big water truck looking left to see if anything was coming. The truck stopped in front of me instead of turning right. Wump! My captain worked the crash......... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif

Nick, it could have been worse..............

Being younger I am hoping she has limted tort insurance therefore giving up her right to sue.. Most kids take that option because their insurance ends up being lower.

Yep I just got the wheels back on, and the check from the insurance company minus the $250 deductable I had to pay... This deductable will be $500. Her car was not that bad, probably just have to stick a new bumper on their for her.

I have a laptop on ebay for sale, hopefully someone will bid it up to $500 http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

All is well I guess, Allstate just called and said take your car to this address on Tuesday, they'll give you a check to get your car fixed. Don't worry about anything else.

No more jap cars for me, lesson learned http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif

That car has bad karma.

Glad you're OK, be glad the airbags did not deploy. Those things tear you up. Sorry your new ride is bunged up, here's my story.

Thursday two weeks ago my twin daughters, ages 10, were having their birthday party, and we had a day at the lake planned. Started raining before we left and I was going over to a sporting goods store with a sale going on.

Within sight of my house, a little gal, about 20, rounded the curve with her brother headed to the emergency room because he dumped Drano and Liquid Plumber in his eyes, and smaked the crap out of me and my new Denali (4 months old). She was doing about 45 to 50, I was doing 25 having just pulled out of my driveway.

Totaled her car, a new Mercury Cougar, and did $12,000 in damage to mine.

Everyone banged up, and we were lucky no one was hurt seriously. I've been stiff for a few days, and have some lingering shoulder and low back issues, but I think time will take care of most of it. Long live Lorotab!!!!

Wife handled the kids with the boat on the lake, I spent the afternoon in the ER with Drano boy.

TNKen, just wonderin', but how old is 'Drano boy' and how the heck did he manage to get Drano and Liquid Plumber in his eyes? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif At least you are recovering. • 3 weeks later...

Missed the follow up. Drano Boy was about 18. He tried to unstop the sink with drano and liquid plumber. When it didn't work, he went underneath the sink and unhooked the drain lines, dumping it into his face.

Getting better, back still aggravating.

$13,000 in damages on the truck and still climbing as the work is done. Tried to trade it. Was offered $24,000 for the truck following repairs. Pretty crappy for a 5 month old truck, with 7,500 miles, that cost $53k.

Nick, glad you're back together in one piece. Mine will be on the frame machine for 2 weeks.
