Value of Unmarked Rusco Case

Recommended Posts

Bought this at a auction of a local vet. It looks like an unmarked Russo case. It has obviously seen some hard use, if it could talk. This came in a box with some other stuff that I wanted for my M1. Any idea what its worth. It has a battle field affected repair on the flap with a steel probably foreign replacement pin. I had it looked at by a local guy that authenticated that and several other items but he would not give a price as he had only every seen one, the one he was holding. There is numbers under the flap that correspond to something, gun?,motorcycle?GI?. The bag is approximately 24” long. Just trying to get a ballpark value.

I'm thinking based on condition, maybe $200. Its condition is not that great, and it's unmarked, which makes it less desirable than others. Its provenance is unknown. Of course, the price is just my opinion, but the overall market on cases has been flat for the last several years.

Any other opinions? I'm not trying to turn this into a sales post, as the member is unknown to me.

David it right on. no more or less. its worn and marked up with numbers which mean nothing. Guys want these mint to unissued cond. Unless you have a worn Colt 21a to go with it in same shape.and four mags, cleaning rod and you have a complete rig now.

I would pass unless they tell you two c notes will do it. If you really really want it badly.

Could the 4280 be the s/n of the Thompson that was with it?

Piep,

That is certainly a possibility. If it is the serial number of the gun, that number has an interesting history (not gangster related). I doubt there would be any way to prove the connection, however.
