Floridac3
Thinking about buyind a United Specialties Drum for my 1928. It looks like a Bridgeport drum with a U stamped on it. Does anyone have any info on this, or know its approx current value? Seller is asking 900. Are these just Bridgeport drums sold through another WWII company? Thanks for the help (yet again). John Jr
Buy it if the conditon is good, most finish remains and it has no dents Folks have been paying well over 1000 for them recently. Jr
gijive
Hi, That about the right price for that drum. Those drums actually pre-date the Bridgeport, CT marked drums. I believe they still have the Auto-Ordnance, New York address on them. They were pre-war Auto-Ordnance contracted drums, if I remember correctly. Arthur Fliegenheimer
Bill, United Specialties Company is the manufacturer of all the Bridgeport and Savage drums. But only the Savage drum (no slots) has the N.Y. address on the back cover. $900 for the "USCO" marked hub drum is fair market. Over $1000 for WWII L drums would be high. Arthur Fliegenheimer
Latest update on U.S.CO. L drum price, $875. Missed it by $25.
John Jr
QUOTE Over $1000 for WWII L drums would be high. WRONG! Over 20K for a 28 Savage would be high. WRONG!
