Elbow
Zamm, that's a real nice Tommy you got there.Did Mr. Dan do your stock set or did P.K. do that to? What color tint did you use, if you don't mind me asking. Because Dan will be doing me a set of some fancy wood soon. I will have to talk to P.K. soon about getting a acuator knob like the one you got on it. And the list go's on and on. One more thing is. Is it a big deal to put a 1928a1 or a M1 lower reciever on it ? Or sould I say what's all in volved with the process of adapting one to a 1927 A1 http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/unsure.gif I've tried the search option but could come up with much.I've built a Fn Fal from scratch,so I learned quite a bit from that. Zamm
Elbow, Thanks for the compliments. Most folks have seen this gun, and many like it. The grandaddy of them all is "Project X", Lionhart's amazing semi. The wood is all surplus, refinished according to the FAQ at top of list. But, I've been thinking of a nice set from Dan, more Colt like... There are pro's and con's on the frame choices. The 28' frames need a shim or something, the semi being made a bit shorter in height to satisfy the BATF, ( that's why you must destroy Mag's by enlongating the catch hole). With the original frame, you can swap out the mag catch and drill out the pivot for the "selector". Must add a buttstock adaptor, and all that...Again, all in FAQ. Ronmann, Perhaps in the future I'll be able to get a few new shots. Best, Zamm
LIONHART
QUOTE Thanks for the compliments. Most folks have seen this gun, and many like it. The grandaddy of them all is "Project X", Lionhart's amazing semi. I suppose "X" was quite an inspiration! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif Say Zamm, since your pulling out your Photo Albums, you have a shot of your Wife holding your Thompson? A side view showing all the Curves/Angles would be great!
Zamm
Lionhart My Man, You have just inadvertently given rise to a grand idea! Being an artist of sorts, I'm thinking of a limited edition print, a photogravure, hand inked and pulled copper etching. Trying to get permission right now to photograph the Colt at the NY city police museum. I think a real dramatic, high contrast, angled photo... Could be something we might all want framed on the wall.... I'll get back to you on that wife photo http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif Z
Zamm
Well, I hope this satifies all involved! Again, it's an Oldie ( even "pre-PK") but has the required angles and curves! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif Zamm http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v727/zamm/Italianlunch.jpg

Norm
QUOTE I suppose "X" was quite an inspiration! Devlin, "Project X" was surely an inspiration for my gun. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif It proved to me that a 27A1 can look very good. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Who is the proud owner of "X" now? If it's not you, I am sure that he (or maye she?) raoms this board. It is a beautiful gun. Zamm - your 27A1 looks great also. I love the fact that your family and friends share in your love for the Tommy. If I am correct, I have seen two or three photos that daughter and friends have taken with the gun. Zamm
Mike, The guy still eating is me ( although a bit younger !). Made to finnish the lunch with two dead buddies! Norm, Thanks, you are correct, they love to pose with it. It's part of the house, part of the "aura" of this kooky place! And it's helped by teaching my daughters the proper handling and respect of a firearm because of it being about the house, (wich here in Metro-NY, not many people get a chance to do, you know, someone picks up a gun and "boom", how did that happen?). But again, If it were not for this list, Delvin's wacked-out project with PK and so on, it would never be what it was. Man, we sure do have a lot of good looking semi's out there now between PK, Damon at Tommygunner, and all the ingenuity folks have in making something better. Time for a new thread! LIONHART
Hi Norm! Yes, the Current owner of "X" is a Member of this Forum. At one time he did post a Pic of it with "L" Drum attached. Still looking good! A Calendar?? What a great idea. I'd most certainly want one. And Zamm, could you please tone it down about Dental work. Zamm
mp40, Hey, thanks for the compliment, but I'm not sure I'm up for a whole calendar! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif I'm thinking along the lines of limited edition print, numbered and signed, real "high quality" type thing you would want to frame... Give me some time to think about this, could be cool. As for the calendar, we need sombody who has more contacts with commercial layout and printing, you know, someone that does books and things, ya know, nod nod!
