Chicago Fed Bank Reserve Thompsons

Recommended Posts

Anybody ever get them or find out who did. Lost contact with the guy{20 years} who would clean them every six months or so. In the basement vault 21's and 28 navy over 20 guns. Everyone of them in %95 plus cond. and all original parts and wood. Like the Chicago Tribune gun like new and put away and out of Sight/ in the Library basement vault at Cantigny, Wheaton ,Il. Not sure who hunts this stuff down anymore.

Or really if anybody cares..

Ron,

I asked about the Thompsons at the Chicago Fed downtown many years ago (20+) and nobody "seemed to know" (or wouldn't offer the info). When I asked some deeper questions they really raised eyebrows so I backed off haha. I knew the guns were there, but just couldn't get any answers from the staff that day.

Forgot about the Tribune gun, wow! I think there are few more treasures at Cantigny than just the items on display. There always are at those kinds of places, like the Rock Island Armory Museum which is a must-see for those who haven't been there. It'll take all day.

  • Rock Island loved that place. and the Patton museum better yet, and the Goldfinger FT.KNOX thing is a trip. China troops with MP-40'S and auric blasting away.Always good stuff. Still have VHS on all of it and good pics of Rock Island. TOO bad I never documented it all from Cox,, Vollmer's Earl, Perry, Dale, and a hundred other spots on the map. Still have my Earl interview on tape someplace.Check out Joilet P.D. they still have some Thompsons AND Will county #3151 #1852 got reblued along the way.fun with history Colt21A Ron

Off topic, Not sure what font colt21a is using, but really hard to read on a phone. No offense meant, you always have awesome information. Just hard for me to follow when on my phone.

I am the trivia King I am the only man that Helmer Hugged at a gun show in 1990. When he saw the table display and I got the Chocolate Dillinger Mask.only done once really rare....one of a kind, even Elvira would have enjoyed that chunk of Choco yum yum Mikes Tommygun gal would be jealous

chocolate Mask >Does that sound wrong somehow? anyhow This is the only place they let me out of. Otherwise its back to the bunker.. or arkham The younger guys should be glad some old stuff is still around. How in the heck would they know what went on back when..

You're on it , Full Auto 45..... like " Dirt, dirt in the carbonator, blowed it away " or ( SAR Show, 2016) "Colt Chopper told me I can stick it up my Axx, if I wanted an autograph "

goes around.
