MRJ
The September 2003 issue of Small Arms Review has an article on BM-59E's written by Charlie Cutshaw. According to Mr. Cutshaw, Sarco bought 3500 BM-59E parts kits from Collector's Armory who originally imported them. Interesting article which deserves a read by those who collect BM-59's. John Ryan
I did see it. It was a nice fluffer piece for the BM59E. Coincidently ( Yeah ! ), SARCO's add in the 8/18 Shotgun News ( pg 72) lists those kits ( $595.00) as well as a drawing ($39.50) to complete a Garand reciever to fit it. It sounds like a great project were it not for the high price of the parts kit. Still I would love to hear about someone putting one of those together. Specificly the additional operations required to modify the Garand reciever. Post it here.
boeboe
Considering what you can buy complete rifles for, a person would have to be nuts to buy a Sarco kit, plus receiver and blueprint. Great buys are out there for those who keep their eyes open. http://www.auctionarms.com/search/displayi...ItemNum=4775517
al nukem
What did the article basically say? Was it just the geneology or did it go in to the reliability & shooting characteristics? Thanks, Tim
