DZelenka
I understand that the AR is a Mauser manufacturing code and the D.E. is the 1944 date code. What I am wondering is the arz and the eagle looking stamp to the lower left of the serial number. Does anyone have any information on this? DZelenka
I think I have answered my own question but would love any commentary. Also, this gun doesn't appear to have an anti-aircraft sight spud (at least I cannot see it from the side view pictures), that seems very odd. Black River Militaria CII
The maker whose stamp is 'arz' made MG34 and MG42 parts. The company was Deutche Kul-u Kraftsmaschinen GmbH, Kraul-Enbisdorf, bri Freiberg, Germany. It is the maker's stamp on the gun. This outfit was a sheetmetal stamping concern. Many businesses contracted with the major assembler/makers to make parts for the MG42s. Kraftsmaschinen also made MG34 parts like feedtray so, bipod parts, etc.If the profile picture is slightly below the centerline of the gun the AA fixture can be hidden behind the top edge of the shroud. There should be one on that gun. Buttstock appears to be Yugo. Edited April 3, 2017 by Black River Militaria CII
DZelenka
Buttstock is Yugo as is almost every part other than the top cover and the receiver.

Black River Militaria CII
What's the story on the gun?
DZelenka
It's on a form 3 of a deceased former dealer. The transferor on the form is Bob Landies and Collectors Corner. There is no additional marking noted on the form. The form is dated in April 1986. That is all I know. What can you tell me?
av8tr
Is Landies or Collectors Corner listed as the manufacturer of the gun? The date makes it look like they remanufactured it right before the end.
