john
I'm not that old, but I remember ads from Numrich arms (and other dealers...) for Thompson parts at a dollar a pound http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif (20 lb. minimum order).....and my local surplus store had a whole table full of L-drums for ten bucks apiece!! john
Ron Mills
A few years back I ordered the IMA M1A1 dummy gun, got the parts kit by mistake, sent it back (they even sent a UPS call tag), finally got the dummy. Price was $350 then; should've kept the parts kit too. I'll hang onto that dummy gun. I wish the bidding for my band would go like it does on Ebay! And it's not just Thompson stuff either. Everything on there just seems to go berserk. They laugh all the way to the bank on this stuff. Liberace once said "You know that bank that you all said I laugh all the way to? I bought it."
