timkel
A Lewis machine gun case is coming up at auction. The case looks vintage. https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/-1-c-BD74EA7900?utm_source=inv_kwalert&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=keywordalertlive&utm_term=2 Edited October 10, 2018 by timkel
Adg105200
Interesting how they spelled it "Louis" in the description when it is properly spelled out on the case lol Andrew
Black River Militaria CII
Anyone found any other pics of the chest such as interior, close ups of metal condition all around, etc, etc. I currently own an example of this type of chest and would like to see completeness and arrangement of compartments in interior. timkel
Interesting case. I don't own a Lewis. But I really like the case label. Indians armed with Savage 99's? Edited October 10, 2018 by timkel
johnsonlmg41
I've never seen any interior pics of that case. Bob did you end up with the one pictured in Easterly's book? Are there any remnants/ stains of where partitions may have been located? Too bad there was no interior pic of that one, but I suspect it also had no interior hence why there is no photo. I'll probably throw some money at this one and see what happens?
Black River Militaria CII
Yes, I did, and bought it many years ago. I have always wondered how the contents were prepared and stored in the chests, and have never found a diagram or any information. Be interesting to see what the auction hammer is on it. johnsonlmg41
Sold for $1476 plus shipping. A lot of money for a suitcase. I could see no evidence that this was ever a case for a lewis gun. No markings where there may have been partitions at one time. It's possible there was a "soft" insert? Or maybe just literature etc.? Does look nice though! If anyone here got it, it would be nice to see some photos of the interior without all the junk inside.
