West Hurley On Gunbroker with GI Bolt and Internals

Recommended Posts

Its at $15,600 with 24 hours to go.

Not a great time to end an auction IMHO.

Seller claims GI Bolt and Internals

PK is extremely backed up so

I dropped out

I have no interest in the gun anymore

and dont know the seller

Its worth $17,000-18,000

Sounds like a guarantee to run to me. Most dealer sellers are honorable and will fix a poor running gun. Especially if advertised to run

Auction has 1 more day. Most auctions end Sunday night

Must be the best day and time

Id be shocked if it ends at $15,000

Hed be giving it away

You own so many good Thompsons Already. Why you looking at a WH?

I was caught up in the auction hopin to be at 14 or less.

From talking to TD. , a west hurley receiver can possibly be out of spec.

He said these were 400 or 500 bucks when they were made

so there wasnt a lot of quality control .

Continuous shooting could damage the receiver.

Thats why PK was charging in the 3k range and

at one point had a 3 year wait. and I think its like 5 years now

After owning a problem gun (not my

Thompson ) and having 17 months of gunsmith time and counting I would never buy another gun with a bad rep

Not when $5,000 more gets you a ww 2 gun

I would sell the gun rather than wait 3-5 years for a smith

Too many good guns out there

Good looking gun. The rear sight appears to be a repro, and the bolt is a late war blued spare. The gun runs or it doesn't, and the ad says it does. I've had no problems with my WH.

This was actually a one owner gun. I know because I as the one who got it from the old man, went through it, and sent it to Jonathan since I don't enjoy the song and dance of gunbroker.

Funny thing is the gun actually came from a guy who was one of the biggest photographers for Playboy for 20+ years. Whole house was framed magazine covers he did and all the girls he shot. Even had nude spreads of all the MG's he had with the girls. For the life of me idk why I didn't get copies of all of them. It was pretty cool though and he was savvy collector.
