Hi KJ,

Look in Tracie Hill's book "Thompson - the American Legend".

Pages 344 to 347 show many of the 20 and 30 round mags with maker ids, etc.

This is an excellent book to have. I highly recommend it!

Good luck!

kj1,

As Mike indicated, Tracie's book is an excellent source of information. I also suggest American Thunder by Frank Iannamico. It focuses on WWII Thompsons, which is when all of the XXX mags were made. A third source is the online version of Thompson Collectors Newsletter. Go to www.nfatoys.com/tsmg/tcn/default.htm and select the 2001 Index. Volume 133 - November 15, 2001, has an excellent article on the XXX mags.

Without a doubt, the best book for money you can buy is Doug Richardson's

book, THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN BOX MAGAZINES soft cover. 56 pages 8 1/2" x 11" covers all aspects of the box magazines.

Best book you could have and cheap at $16.00

Phone Doug at (310) 457-6400.
