Hey I've never shot or owned a .50 cal An looking for a reliable bolt action single shot .50. Not sure what's out there an saw some guns blow up. But what I am looking to use it for is walrus hunting.

I just bought a Spider Firearms Ferret 50 , and it's a good one . The Serbu  also has a following , and anything by Barrett is good . Others have their own followings , too . Most of the current ones being made are good , the bad ones have fallen by the wayside .

You just need to compare the features and see what fits your price range . Don't forget to add the cost of a good scope and rings into your final cost .

There are some hunting bullets out there also, Barnes, Hawk, LeHigh are a couple to look up.

You'll need someone to load them up if you don't have a press. You might want to buy a press as I'm sure the price up there is probably double what it is in the lower 48.
