Does anybody have one for sale, or is willing to send me the specs on theirs? I've gone to 3 good gunsmiths trying to convert the plentiful .45 ACP stick into the virtually non existant 10mm variety. None of them could but of course opined that "someone" ought to be able to. Yet no one can seem to. I was told that the two calibers are so similar that you can just use the .45 mag on 'em. Turns out not to be so. (If it were, why would AO have produced specially-marked (and presumably specially-made) magazines?) The Ultimate Thompson book didn't help. Doug Richardson couldn't help. Starting to think it'd be easier to construct a time machine and go back to the '80's to buy some. Any assistance from the membership would be appreciated.

I tried that - years ago and yesterday. The people who worked on the original are all gone (either from the company or this plane of existence) so the current employees can only read the website to me without any further insight. The part is still listed on the website (https://www.gunpartscorp.com/Products/501330.htm) but has been "out of stock" for at least 3 years (as far back as Numrich's computer files go.)

I'd thought of that, but all the 10mm mag that are readily available are for handguns and the angle between the mag / grip and the barrel is not the 90 degree arrangement Col. Thompson chose. Feeding problems would be inevitable and unfixable.

wouldn't the bridge have to be longer for the 10 mm?

Never mind the 45 acp is longer. my bad.

Wouldn't it be easier to change the barrel to 45 acp?

Good point.

Unless you have a landfill of 10mm ammo, you won't save any money buying/reloading that cartridge.

A bigger concern to me would be the much higher operating pressure of the 10mm cartridge,

and how well the 12L14 steel of the Hurleys would stand up to this.

Yes, Numrich/Hurley did make some 10mms, but you seldom see them accused of a superior product.

Since your post showed up half a year after the previous one, I'd given up hope! (Hence my failure to check for replies for almost a year.) Thanks for keeping the dream/nightmare alive.

Sending me the specs would be great. Selling me a mag (if you're amenable) would be better. Let me know.
