BATFE taking Auto Burglar off NFA requirement?

I thought I saw where someone had gotten BATFE exemption letter by serial number to remove the Auto-burglar from the NFA register.

Can anyone confirm this and provide how it was accomplished?

There was one up for auction recently that was non-NFA and it is listed as such by the ATF. The Auction has the papers detailing such:
