I was made aware today of this news regarding Peter Laidler, author of the Collector Grade Publications book, "The Sten Machine Carbine."

That's a shame. He was probably just doing research and forgot to return the books to the library.

Love something too much is a weak point. It must be very hard to get touch on SA80 in UK... But Browning Hi-Power? Isn't that everywhere ... most likely not in UK.

I have been following that story since the trial began last year, thought he got off rather light considering the level of the charges.

He didn’t hide them very well.

I know Peter really well and I hope he will serve his time and bounce back from this. Hopefully out on good behaviour in 18 months and back to giving good advice and spinning a good yarn.
