Bob, It's a Mk I, the Mk I* was only made by Inglis in Canada and didn't have a telescoping bipod. There were also other differences. reconbob
Balder - I was curious because I thought the MkI's had the ZB style grooved front end, and had the second dovetail to the left of the receiver where the magazine goes, and that subsequent BRENs with the smooth receiver front and only one dovetail (at the back for the rear sight) were MkI*'s. However, I just checked and my BREN (made in England) has the smooth front and one dovetail and its marked "MKI". I did not realize Inglis was the only manufacturer of the MkI*...there is so much to learn... Bob

Much appreciated! All, I'm looking for other photos of the many Bren accessories, including the Bren Gun Carrier, slings, web gear, cleaning kits, and anything else Bren related to include in the reference section. If anyone has photos they would like to see used online, please forward them to me, and I'll consider them for inclusion. Thanks! Bob Bob, I was a little bit too fast there. What I meant to say was that the Mark I (M) was made by Inglis only. Sorry for the confusion.
