bigbore
Finally found a mount for the Bren. Not sure how anyone ever thought it was a good idea, but it is cool. ETA: OK, attachments dont work so..?? http://www.adcofirearms.com/junkpics/bren-mount.jpg Edited September 3, 2010 by bigbore
Balder
bigbore, Nice find! Not a very practical tripod for ground use, but it can also be configured for AA-use - which is how you usually see it in pictures. Balder
John Sukey
Actualy there is more than one Bren tripod. The first one had the additional leg for an AA mount but subsequent ones did not have that feature. Also the first one had a clip for the handle attached to the buttstock. Said handle was usually dispensed with, and finaly they wound up being used as carrying handles for the 2 inch mortar. I suppose the reason you can find the tripods today is that nobody wanted to use them and they were mostly left behind with the baggage.
DougStump
Nice Bren, but I see you have the same problem that I have. Everytime I take a photo of my guns my Johnson gets in the way. Doug

m3bobby
Can you tell me what the serial number of your tripod is? Its a Mk1* which is the Mk1 with out the AA capability but retains the adjustable front leg. I can tell its a BSA made tripod, does it have New Zealand markings as alot of the Mk1* tripods are ex NZ. The Mk2 was as the Mk1* but had a fixed non adjustable front leg. The Mk2* was the para tripod version which had short legs and could fold up for a drop container. I only know of 3 of these in existence. ATB, Chris.
