Import Of Moscow Thompson

Hardrede,

Do the stripped pants fellows at the state department overlook the B.S.A. actuators sold on ebay that are imported to the U.S. from the Swedish seller to American winners? Or is this because they were originally made in GB? Apparently these are getting into the country with no problem. Also Thompson buttstocks, foregrips and compensators arrive from Canada to ebay purchasers routinely with no hold ups.

Arthur: Wouldn't the BSA actuators be for a 1921 and therefore not a U. S. Military part? As for the U. S. Military parts from Canada I don't bid on them because I believe Hardrede is correct and because I don't want to be awakened by a knock on my door in the middle of the night. There is a lengthy discussion about this topic on the old board, which includes citations to the regulations.

This was posted by Combat Evolved on the old board:

you CANNOT import ANYTHING with US made parts or that is all US manufacture

you CANNOT import ANYTHING that was designed for the US's use

you CANNOT import ANYTHING that used US blueprints as a basis of construction

I guess that answers the B.S.A. actuator question concerning legality of import. It seems that even though the B.S.A. parts and wood parts originally made for, or based on, American manufactured Thompsons are on the ban import list, they are being successfully transacted on ebay with United States buyers. Perhaps it is like Cuban Cigars. Customs is not al that interested in a box of Cuban's brought into the U.S. by a travelor with refined tastes. Maybe they are too busy to be bothered with old wood?

Hardrede, and all board members, I totally agree with you. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif Personally, I would like to see all American anti-gun legislation repealed, up to and including The 1934 NFA Act. We should enforce, without mercy, the existing laws against 'real crimes" (like MURDER, RAPE, ROBBERY,KIDNAPPING, etc.) and stop trying to criminalize being a genuine American hero, patriot, and loyal American. I fear there will come a day when we Americans wake up to an 'Orwellian' world in which it is a crime to merely speak and think as we freedom-loving people do. I fear that we will no longer be a 'nation of laws', but become subject to the capricious wiles and notions of the government. I fear that a day will come, indeed, is coming, in America, when good honest Americans will be subject to tyrants! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif What will you do? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif What are you willing to do? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ph34r.gif I think that those of us who care need to pledge our votes, our minds, our pens, and our treasure$$$, before more is required of us (our freedoms, our lives). You may say, "He acts as if we are at war!" Yes, indeed, this is a culture war: a war which is being fought now, in our nation's legislative chambers, courthouses, and ballot boxes. In the next years and decades it will be decided. WILL WE AMERICANS CONTINUE TO LIVE IN PEACE AND FREEDOM OR WILL WE BECOME A SUBJECT PEOPLE? If you love freedom, all of the ones our forefathers and brothers fought for, (freedom of speech, religion, the right to keep and bear arms, etc.) then what will you do? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif Remember, if we lose one freedom outlined in The Constitution, then they are all subject to interpretation and loss! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif Best Regards, Walter http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif
