rkr
I found this item on ebay but am not at home to check reference books. Is this a real Colt bolt for a 1921/1928 Navy overstamp? Check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks Rob http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...tegory=585&rd=
gijive
Hi Rob, I saw that bolt on Ebay also. No, it is not a Colt bolt, it is a WWII production Auto-Ordnance nickel bolt. The equivalent of a WWII production Savage made nickel bolt. A Colt production bolt would not have the AOC markings and wouldn't have a blue hammer and hammer pin. The Colt bolts have nickel hammers and pins. The seller is either intentionally misleading potential buyers or is misinformed himself. You can buy nickel bolts from Sarco for $85.00. I just noticed the high bidder on that item. That bidder consistently pays over the market price for Ebay listed Thompson items. I once saw him pay over $90.00 for a barrel reinforcing band that you can purchase from Gun Parts Corp. for about $14.00. So go figure.
