73hemicuda
Just saw another one on ebay listed as a N.O.S. bridgeport drum brand new in the cardboard box for $1000. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1928-Thompson-Drum/123706608978?hash=item1ccd7d0d52:g:xdsAAOSw65BcmOrM

john
I picked up a box like that years ago so the new drum will be added to that and probably not used ....
TSMG28
That listing shows the standard packaging for WWII drums. There is an outer sleeve with a heavily taped edge, an inner sleeve that wraps around the drum, and a separate square of cardboard on the side with the winding key. I have seen NIB examples from Seymour and Auto-Ordnance/United Specialties. I have not seen boxed examples of Crosby or WPS, but I suspect they all used the same packaging. Later Numrich packaging was a non-sleeved example that was rectangular with folded cardboard bumpers at each end.
