MGTedFL
Greetings Guys, Looking for a good quality, reliable shooting Sterling MK IV, 9mm, built by a reputable builder. Prefer DLO tube, but others like Wilson considered. Andrewski build preferred. No PAWS Sterling-thing. These have become harder to find over the past couple of years, and I just missed-out on two different guns in the last 6 months. Yes, I did see the offerings at ASI, but 17-23K for a tube gun; Is that where we are now? Any leads appreciated. Funds available for right gun immediately, or can offer Title I or Title II items in trade. Ted (727) 510-2414
MGTedFL
Found a DLO tube Sterling, built by DGS. Just had her E-file F3 approved, and she is heading to the Sunshine State. Now the wait begins.....

MGTedFL
Private sale from a friend who told a friend who told me. DLO Sterling tube, built by DGS. Beautiful build, like new. Paid substantially less than the number quoted above. Correct Sterling cocking tube slot, not a Stenling. E-file transfer approved in less than a week, gun already shipped. Guess this makes up for my Tommy that took 16 months to F4 approval, just after 41F went into effect. Sometimes better lucky than good....
huggytree
going rate has been $12,500-13,500 range...but ive seen asking prices $14,000-15,000...the guy who started at $20,000 is not living on Earth.....at the rate he is dropping it i figure it should be priced correct in 3 years........and thats assuming the market is rising as his price is dropping.... johnsonlmg41
The one at 19K is sort of special, though I don't think the owner actually knows it. I may bargain on that at some point, but I need another one like another hole in the head?
MGTedFL
My DLO-DGS Sterling MK IV just arrived at my SOT. Picked it up, took it home and test fired-it in the front yard....JUST KIDDING. F4 app to Trust goes out Monday, now the real wait begins. My last 3 approvals came back between 7-8 months. I did get to put a several mags thru it into his test box. Flawless, using that Winchester 124gr NATO stamped ammo from SGA. Nice power, but boy is that stuff dirty...... JohnsonLMG41...care to share what you have picked-up on that make the 19K gun special? Please PM me if you don't want to let the cat out of the bag. Thanks, Ted
johnsonlmg41
Sorry, not sharing at this point until I get a look at it in person and at that point I may make an offer? I have a DGS build out of a sten. Can't say I'd recommend them, but your gun is likely completely different and was by far easier for them to tackle at their skill level. You should be able to take your stuff home same day with a nics check and proof of payment for the stamp, but sadly we are still stuck in a system where transfers were processed faster in 1934 than they do today! Only government can put in place a plan and 84 years later make it less efficient then when it began!
MGTedFL
I had heard that the DGS guns were hit and miss. The SOT who arranged the sale sent lots of pics and examined the gun. It is perfect, down to the cocking slot, markings on mag well, butt-cap fit and folding stock action. Marked DLO MKII on the left rear of the tube. Shot 3 mags flawlessly. The crinkle paint is top-notch as well. I always negotiate a 3 day inspection, but after I check it out and fire it, I own it at that point. Can't say I've always made the best choices, (missed a squibbed barrel on a numbers matching MP40 C&R) but have learned to ask many questions up front, and carefully inspect before I send anything down the pipe. Good luck on that piece you are going to look at…..always exciting, 'cause after all these years....you never truly know what you have...until you get it into your hands. nuge
Never had any luck with DGS myself (3 strikes), but it sounds like his dlo tube projects are good to go. Rick Winters and John Andrewski have been excellent in my experience.
