New Member seeks value of Sarco parts kit

Recommended Posts

Years ago I purchased a Thompson parts kit from Sarco and now wish to sell it, but determining its value is difficult. The wood set is unopened. The metal parts, apart from the small bits, include a bolt with a spring-loaded firing pin, a receiver marked Auto Ordnance, and a barrel with a good-looking bore. The lower receiver S/N is in the three hundred ten thousand range. Can a member give me an idea of its value? Thanks.

I am a newbie with Thompsons, but you really need to post some pictures so the experts can weigh in and give you an idea. For instance is it a parts kit for a 1921, 1928, M1 or M1A1 and then is it a complete parts kit, are the parts all for one model or mix master, and of course what condition are the parts/wood in.

Welcome to this board and take care my friend.

All you'll get here are opinions from us, and we have no money on the table. Take great pics and post the kit on an auction site. It's the only way to realize current value. Set a high, undisclosed reserve if you're not sure you want to sell.

Right they are!

Kay all the parts out without packaging.....then take several good pics including both sides of the parts, including numbers, proof marks, etc.

If the wood grain looks special, give it a quick wipe with boiled linseed oil and wipe the excess off.

Once we see whatcha got, we'll give you what the kut might sell for, and also what others are asking on the market now.

Ultimately you'll need to dissect your own value from that, but if you entertain offers from ither board members you know itll go to a goid home and be lived!

I have one of those kits too somewhere.

And a "block" of 10 new WW2 magazines wrapped in some sort of sealed wax paper bought from SARCO at the same time.
