ron_brock
Does anyone know if there were changes made to the third hand over time between West Hurley and Kahr production? I recently sold one to a member and it does it fit in his Kahr. Trying to see if anyone knows if the mag slot width changed over time or not. damifino
Hi Ron, just a note, the one I got from you fits fine in my SA 1927 A5 WH. Lots of side to side clearance, good fit front to back.

lamellarllc
Ron, I dont think there was any variation of them, just side ti side wobble, not sure on the thickness though all mine seem to be the same.
Major 2
I ordered one from Karr and it was about .010 thick on the flat for my WH I filed it with a mill file to fit I have photos but am unable to see how one posts photo here .

Major 2
Thanks , here are the photos.... Karr OEM 3rd hand would not insert ( No Go ) in my WH as it was delivered.I simply measured the overall thickness ( baseline NO- Go ) and then filed till it would go. It did not take very much.I then just cold blued the surface. Edited April 21, 2021 by Major

I saw that the Kahr key looks different from earlier versions I've seen online so was not sure it would fit. I certainly can file. I was actually thinking if its hard to find the WH key if I had dimensions I could make one.
jpeternel
I got the third hand key from Kahr for my WH (1989). I do not need to file it at all. It is smaller (width wise) than the key slot so it is actually loose in the slot. It wiggles side to side. This can cause problems as well. I will either have to add shims to the key slot or make a new key that is wider. I'm a bit confused by the post above where you filed the Kahr key to fit the WH. ron_brock
The odd ball one I have available for sale measures about 0.188-0.189in thick about 0.622 wide. Ron
ron_brock
Sounds like maybe the Kahr ones are about 0.010 thicker and may not work in WH. I know the one I sold above was not as wide (guessing it was narrow and thinner than this othe one I have). Could anyone post the measurements of the narrowversion like I sold to member damifino? Thanks Ron

damifino
Hi jpeternel, you can see the excessive side clearance in my WH. It seems to work fine. What problems could it cause? Thanks
