This is my first trip to TCA. I am coming from Florida. What types of Thompson stuff do people display? I reserved a table but I am not sure what to bring. I mostly have military stuff with a few colt exceptions. I hate drag my stuff on the airlines all that way if it is things people have seen before. Drums, pouches, parts, barrels etc. I have a few things I need help identifying. Any thoughts before I do my final packing? I am bring 2 guns a 1928A1 and M1A1 with ammo. If the displays are mostly Colt stuff let me know. Thanks Rob

The displays are about equally mixed between Colt and military guns. People display all the things you mentioned in your posts, i.e. pouches, barrels, drums, misc. parts, etc. Some display posters and books. It depends on what you want to put on your table.

 

No one at the show gets tired of looking at Thompson stuff:-) Definitely bring any items you want identified, there are lots of knowledgeable individuals there.

I suggest you bring anything unique, rare or unusual. Anything Thompson you would like to sell. Also. anything you need identified. There are many item there that people have seen before, but that should not stop you from bringing an item.

 

I have seen many Thompsons, drums and mags, but still stop at each table because each collection is unique.

There have been people with a table that will only display their Thompson and maybe a Drum and people will stop, stare and admire.

 

Just remember, whether you have 1 item or 100, or whether its an item people have never seen or see everyday (and Thompson related) you can bet they will stop and look.

I have flown all over the globe with my hunting rifles with little problems. You do not need any special permits in the USA but a quality gun case is a must. When you check in the airlines have you sign a card that certifies the guns are unloaded. With the new 911 security measures they pass the cases through the metal dectetor unlooked then they lock them on the other side and hand you the key. The guns are disassembled and I doubt anyone except a Thompson person would know what they are. I have a none stop to Columbus so we will see how it goes. If they screw them up they will owe me 2 Thompsons. See you there.

That doesn't sound too bad. Do they say anything about the ammo in the same case or isn't that an issue?
