With these email alerts they send out it makes be feel compelled to contact them and make SURE they don't drop me off the back order status we are all on. Means more telephone traffic for them to handle and increases risk of a screw up as one board member already commented on in getting his quantity wrong.

I got the email from them today, with a different order number, that said to reply if I wanted to be kept on the waiting list (which I did). This identified my order as being for 4 drums.
So it seems I'm in their system two different way; once for 4 drums and once for 2. if I actually get six I won't complain

I tried to order drums twice and just got the runaround from SG. Contacted their customer service and got the bullshit of no drums able to be shipped to NY. I don't understand the law, we here can purchase and possess any mags that are preban regardless of capacity but can not bring same into state by mail? Doesn't make sense to me. Wish I could get some drums. ![]() |
It seems like the big cities always screw up gun stuff for the whole state.
NYC screws it up for NY.
Chicago screws it up for Illinois.
LA screws it up for Cali. (well, they have other issues too)

This is after having reconfirmed my backordered drums three times over 6 months and now I'll have to call them and find out what the Heck is going on!

Maybe (as others have stated) the backorder notice will be sent to me shortly with another number....but tomorrow I'll find out via the Telephone....and let you know if there is any other news!
a very frustrated john!!

You'll probably get the e-mail from SG. The same thing happened to me a couple of days ago. I think the orders are getting so old that they don't show up in the SG automated tool anymore.

This is a classic SG trick. Advertise an item at a low price; get a bunch of orders and, often, some new/renewal membership fees, and then stiff the buyer on the item. You also always need to check your credit card bill because often they will "forget" to figure in the coupon savings if you used a coupon.
If SG won't honor my order, what's my next action?

Finally got an email.....today, after I had called the Guide two days ago. The lady I spoke with told me that the orders more than 30 days old don't show up (not trackable) on the website. I asked why not and she didn't know.....
She assured me that she had found my order and all was well and the delivery date is as the rest (2.28/06).
I mentioned that a bunch of folks I knew had ordered a bunch of these drums and wanted to know what their chances were to actually receive them. She said that they should come through BUT they were having trouble with this particular vendor and the delivery dates.
SOOOO, they are not the direct importers of these drums but are buying them from another wholesaler.....
No idea if this thing will ever go through, but they supposedly have a contract with the vendor for these drums and hopefully will come through.
I'll keep checking and let you all know if I find anything else out. Gotta run down there next week....

He had no idea where the drums were coming from. He said that none of the major exporters in England have had any large supplies.
