John Jr
As Nick featured at the top of the page directory, tonight will be the Thompson Fireside Chat. You must have the Ventrilo client to participate, dial up works, speakers are a have to, a microphone would be nice but you don't have to have it. IP will be posted about 7:00pm CST and will begin officially at 8:00pm CST, but you can log in early to chat or to test your setup. Don't miss out! Check out what was said about the chat from last week by clicking HERE http://www.cswnet.com/~luther/thompsonfire.jpg Jr

The Ventrilo.EXE file is linked to missing export DSOUND. Walter63a
I seem to have two files of that type, at that location. They both state For Windows 95 and NT. My system is Windows 98. Could this be the problem? Can it be replaced?
kyle
I'm out of my league Walter. You might try going out the Microsoft web site and see if they a version of the file for Windows 98. You might also look in your "Trash Can" and see if by chance the Win98 version got moved there.

kyle
You may want to check with John Jr. He's running Windows 98. Maybe he could check his directories. On my machine, I can't see any description as to the nature of the file. Like I said, I'm out of my league with this stuff.
Walter63a
Kyle, once you locate a file, right click on it. Then left click on 'quick view' for more information on the file. John, any suggestions? Regards, Walter

Walter63a
The only thing I can think of, is that possibly, during a Windows update, I clicked the wrong thing. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ph34r.gif Regards, Walter

TD.
John, Thanks for the chat room tonight. For those of you that have not tried it, you are really missing out on some good conversation. Walter, it appears you have a corrupted DDL file, but that is only a guess on my part. Hopefully, you can find a replacement or a fix and join us again. Tom
