New and unused heavy duty Thompson barrel wrench and Thompson receiver vise manufactured by Machinegunboards member Mohawk64. Here is your chance if you missed out on Jim's tool production run. You will need to furnish a piece of pipe for the wrench.

How do you retract the grip mount? By tightening the nut?

Bob, yes it is tightened down. It is a copy of a Richardson receiver vise with the difference being instead of bolting on the grip bar puller to the vise it has been welded on. A drill and an angle grinder could be used to convert it to the Richardson version.

The vise and heavy duty wrench are brand new and have not been used. They are both as received from Mohawk64 and are excess to my current wants and needs.

I realize I am drifting away from the barrel vise...but I looked at the video

and it looks like a M1921 Colt receiver had had a smooth barrel fitted somewhere

along the way? I could not see any fins on the barrel....

Yes, it had a Stevens late 1928 replacement barrel with WWII Type 4 comp and sight somehow glued in place. May be loctite, but we have no idea when it was installed. Nate plans to get a Colt profile replacement barrel from PK. I dont know whether PK has repro type 1 comps as well.
