1992 West Hurley 1927A1 Commando Model Value

Recommended Posts

Available to me locally, private sale.

A new Auto Ordnance 1927A1 Thompson Rifle Commando Model with AO factory Tag in 45 acp. This 1927A1 was built in 1992 and was never shot. Still has the Auto Ordnance Hang Tag in the trigger guard. Walnut stocks were painted with a black textured paint. Has the goofie bayonet lug? Not certain this is factory.

What's a value on this? He is asking 1,250 - which sound high.

How good are they?

Thanks

Paul

It's a West Hurley from 1992...has all the semi WH problems with none of the good looks. I have read of people stripping the wood and finding nice walnut underneath it, but how much do you want to pay for a project? It is worth what you are willing to pay if it makes you happy. I wouldn't go near it for that price considering what it would take to make me happy with it...but that's me.

YEP, Is this factory or aftermarket? Also it appears the grip bar extends past the fore stock?

What would you do with this Thompson ? Do you want a long barreled as is shooter or were you thinking of doing a SBR on it ?

Yes, some of the "Commando" models have nice walnut under the black paint. The West Hurley guns are a better basis for a project than what KAHR ARMS is putting out these days.

See if the seller will take less for it. A fellow I know paid $900 for a WH "Commando" at a local gun shop because it sat on the shelf too long and owner wanted to move it. With a little tweaking it ran ok.

Yes, the bayonet attachment does look goofy ;-)

The seller will not take $900.00 for it.

Maybe he wants you to know he owns it and intends to keep it.
