In the Jan. 20 issue of the Shotgun News is a article on Thompson acessories by Frank Iannamico (military, my favorite)!

Just got my copy yesterday and read through it last night. Once again, fantastic job as with all your articles!

Frank I, if you read this maybe you can shed light on the choice of the TSMG pictured in the article. It appears to be a 1928 receiver with no manufacturers markings, plain M1 style barrel with ring sight and protected ear L sight. The combination of no receiver markings, "M1" plain barrel and protected "ears" rear sight is a strange choice for the Thompson pictured in the article, considering the article said it was important to know what's authentic. The article was fantastic, just thought the choice of Thonmpson pictured might be confusing to new enthusiasts.

Actually, it's a dummy gun provided by Sarco (noted at the bottom of page 34). It definately has the wrong style rear sight for the gun it is trying to be, should have just a plain Lyman "L" sight. Would also probably look better with a horizontal forend considering all the other late production features exhibited on the gun.
